In memoriam...

Lucy was a once-in-a-lifetime dog, a Golden Retriever, OTCH MACH5 Badgersbrook Lucy Sparkles UDX8 OM7 VER RAE MXS2 MJS2 MXF MFB TQX T2B2. Whelped December 2004, Lucy was one of those rare dogs who could truly do it all. She never acted like a puppy and was brilliant from day one. In agility, Lucy was an unsurpassed crowd pleaser, always chasing the Border Collies for wins and loving every minute of it!

But Lucy's true gift was obedience. Her first time in the ring, she won High in Trial from the Novice B class. She won another High in Trial from Novice B, and by the time she completed her OTCH she’d accumulated eight High in Trial and ten High Combined awards. Lucy went from Companion Dog (CD) to Utility Dog (UD) in just six months, and three months later she had her UDX. One year after finishing her UD, Lucy completed her OTCH and UDX3. She had a total of eight Open and twelve Utility wins.

Lucy is forever enshrined in the Golden Retriever Hall of Fame for both agility and obedience. She was breathtaking to watch, whatever the venue or score. She definitely lived up to her name, LUCY SPARKLES!!

Lucy won High in Trial the first time she stepped into an obedience ring, September 14, 2007.

Dino was a black Standard Poodle, Nevermore Valentino UDX VER RAE OA AXJ, whelped August 2000. In addition to his AKC titles, Dino earned his WC for hunting and two starter hunt legs from the United Kennel Club. Kim won her first High in Trial when Dino gave a memorable performance at an all-breed show. He had 29 OTCH points, seven High in Trial wins, one High Combined, and five Open B wins. He qualified 47 times in Open B and 36 times in Utility B.

Dino’s proudest achievement, though, was likely his work teaching handling skills to fledgling agility students. Willing to run courses repeatedly with different people, Dino taught countless students who ran at his side. He never seemed to tire of running. Dino loved life more than any dog Kim has ever known!

Bruno was a brown Miniature Poodle, OTCH Reignon Dassin Bruno UDX2 RAE MX MXS MXJ MJB AXP AJP NF, whelped March 1999. Bruno won High in Trial on his very first trip into the obedience ring. He accumulated a total of six High in Trial awards, two High Combined wins, five Open wins, and four Utility wins. He qualified 61 times in Open and 43 times in Utility.

Bruno earned his OTCH in September 2006. This fine fellow was no slouch in agility, either, with 25 double Qs and 497 points toward his MACH.
