Scent Work Classes at DSK
Introduction To Odor
For pups and dogs of all ages with no previous scent work training. Your pup will learn to recognize the four AKC odors (birch, anise, clove, and cypress), search for them, and indicate. You will learn the rules of AKC Scent Work and what to expect at a trial. Lots of food (treats) are utilized, as well as toys to build drive and confidence. All four elements of AKC Scent Work are introduced to your pup - buried, containers, interiors, and exteriors. Dogs are also introduced to vehicle searches.

Advanced Scent Work
This class is geared for dogs/pups that have started competing in scent work . Teams build on their skills learned in the Intro class as they prepare for AKC advance and excellent levels. Search areas are becoming bigger and more complicated. Toy and food distractors are introduced as well as wall hides. All four elements of AKC Scent Work are covered.

Master Scent Work
This class is geared for teams that are preparing for master and detective searches. Teams work on blank room searches, multiple kinds of distractors (food, toys, moving objects, mimics, and sound), and inaccessible hides. Searches are bigger and may contain interior as well as exteriors, or multiple rooms. All four elements of AKC Scent Work are covered.
