Emily has been an animal lover her whole life. She started competing with horses as a child, but often found herself teaching the family dog to jump over tiny jumps in the backyard in her free time. She has always loved to train dogs and always taught the family dog fun tricks and routines growing up. She first met Kim and the DSK family after she adopted her dog Malibu from the shelter. He was a young, and rather unruly mix-breed dog. She was just looking for some help teaching him to be a good pet, but fell face first into the amazing world of dog sports when she walked into DSK and she never looked back!

For the next few years she immersed herself in everything she possibly could by learning about agility, rally, obedience, and herding. Malibu was a natural at agility and enjoyed learning all the obedience games. Emily found her true passion in obedience through learning the ropes with Malibu! 

​

In spending so much time at DSK, Emily also found her other true passion: Border Collies! She fell in love with the breed and specifically with a special line of dogs, so she set out to get one of her own. In May of 2021 she welcomed home her partner in crime in all things, Hype. Hype and Emily had an instant special connection and have gone on so many amazing adventures together!

Just recently Emily welcomed her newest Border Collie - Vanish, who she hopes will also take her on many exciting adventures.

The DSK family has taught Emily so many incredible things about dog training and dog sports and there is nothing she enjoys more than sharing those gifts with others!
